This is the Third of our Pathways to Planetary Health (PPH) Forum Summer 2022 series and focuses on the Common Good pathway. The Common Good is the underlying mutuality – a sense of shared trust and altruism – that we find in a functioning society, from which actions supporting planetary health grow. The Common Good is one necessary component of planetary health, but not singularly sufficient. Learn about all four pathways and other PPH events here.

Speakers:

Dr. Nicole Redvers, ND, MPH, is a member of the Deninu K’ue First Nation in Denendeh (NWT, Canada) and has worked with Indigenous patients, scholars, and communities around the globe her entire career. She is an assistant professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine and the Department of Indigenous Health at the University of North Dakota where she helped develop and launch the first Indigenous health PhD program. Dr. Redvers is co-founder and current board chair of the Canadian charity the Arctic Indigenous Wellness Foundation based in Yellowknife, NWT, providing traditional Indigenous-rooted land-based wellness supports to northerners. She has been actively involved at regional, national, and international levels promoting the inclusion of Indigenous perspectives in both human and planetary health research and practice. She is author of the trade paperback book titled, ‘The Science of the Sacred: Bridging Global Indigenous Medicine Systems and Modern Scientific Principles’.

Jonathan F.P. Rose’s business, public policy, and not-for-profit work focus on creating a more environmentally, socially, and economically responsible world. Jonathan and his wife Diana Calthorpe Rose are the co-founders of the Garrison Institute. He serves on its Board and leads its Pathways to Planetary Health program.

Late Registration Fee

Online registration for this event will close the day before the start of the retreat. Late registrations may be accepted on a case-by-case basis; there is a $50 late registration fee.

Cancellation Policy

This policy applies only to retreats for which Garrison Institute collected registration fees directly from guests. For cancellations made at least a week in advance of the start of the retreat, we assess a $65 cancellation fee. For cancellations made within a week of the event, in addition to the $65 processing fee, we will assess a fee of $40 per day for the length of the retreat to cover our direct costs for food, which will have already been ordered. We cannot offer refunds for cancellations made after 4pm the day before the start of a retreat.
